I've had a variety of interesting projects since I last posted here -- banners, videos and book covers. Take a look!
The cover (and interior) of Gracie's Greatest Gift by fellow Floridian Ginny Cruz features the lovely watercolor illustrations by Richa Kinra.
These leaderboard banners were created for display at the Kindle Boards forum website and were made from elements of the authors' existing book covers.
L. Leander's novel, Inzared, Queen of the Elephant Riders, tells the
adventures of an Appalachian mountain girl who runs away to join a
pre-Civil War wagon circus... Here's the video trailer.
Two more trailers -- these for nonfiction travel books by Chicagoan turned world-traveler, Kate Benzin. Making these videos filled me with more than a touch of wanderlust!
Here's the cover for the third novel in Jerrye Sumrall's YA series, The Bayshore Mysteries. It features the artwork of artist Ron Atwood.
And here's the book trailer for Jerrye's first novel in the series, Intruders on Battleship Island. This was a most enjoyable trailer to make!
In February 2010, Word Slinger Boutique completed several very enjoyable graphics projects, as well as several edits and a typesetting job. This leaderboard ad (resized to fit my blog text area) for the novel Replenish the Earth was made for promotion on Kindle Boards. The artwork is portions of the cover illustration for Philip Bulman's novel. I added the text and created the three-frame animated gif.

The cover for Tommie Lyn's second "Cotton Chastain" novel, Windows of the Soul -- the soon-to-be-releasedsequel to The Sands of Santa Rosa. (Yeah, I think Cotton must be a distant cousin of mine. He comes from the same part of Georgia my family hails from!)

On the left, a neat little logo for a new readers-and-writers blog Readers' Realm, made from a really cool stock image. In addition to adding the title, I removed the existing background and created a new one to make the image square, per the customer's request. And on the right, a banner ad for author T.K. Richardson, whose March blog tour will feature her story, Shield the Heart. Made the background and added the text to accompany a thumbnail of her existing cover.

The cover The Secret Graveyard, the second title in Jerrye Sumrall's YA series, the Bayshore Mysteries. More adventure and intrigue for the personable main character, Jeff Douglas, and his friends. I created the front, back and spine, and processed and colorized the existing image used on the front.

Covers for the first two titles in Ethan Wilson's humorous series of short fiction, A Family Man Tries to..., about the trials and rewards of fatherhood. Recently released and already getting great reviews at Amazon.com.

A boxed-set image for A Triple Thriller Fest, e-books from veteran action-adventure authors who teamed up to offer readers a triple treat!

And this month, I became my own customer, redesigning the cover of Southern Man, my mainstream/romantic elements novel.
Do you need a book cover, banner ad, logo or other graphic to promote your fiction or non-fiction? Perhaps you need to promote your author brand. Shoot us an e-mail and let's talk about it! Coming soon to Word Slinger Boutique -- cover images for the hated Facebook timeline! Check the Web Graphicssection of the main website.
I've had a great time recently working on a variety of graphics projects. I enjoyed creating a cover for author Tommie Lyn's novel, On Berryhill Road. This story is set in Milton, Florida -- Berryhill Road is a well-known thoroughfare in that community -- and it's the favorite Lyn novel for residents of the area.
I'm also very pleased with the this animated leaderboard banner ad turned out for author Marlene Dotterer. Her beautiful book cover for Shipbuilder provided elements for the frames -- and makes a great teaser for what sounds like a fascinating story. Gotta put this one on my To-Be-Read list, for sure. Here's a scaled-down version of her leaderboard ad.
Here's another enjoyable project completed a few weeks ago -- a fast-paced video trailer for author David Rollison's political thriller/action adventure novel, The Black Dagger. This is one novel of a series featuring DHS Agent Mike Kelly -- with elements straight out of today's headlines.
Last year, I did several book covers for novelist Gordon Ryan and I was so pleased when he ordered not two sets of Facebook graphics for his author page. He makes the book covers on the Welcome screen into clickable links, which takes the visitor to the book's Amazon page. Cool!
I've had a great time working on these projects and these authors have been wonderful to work with. Thanks for the orders, everyone, and best of luck with your book sales!
I recently received an e-mail from Jerrye announcing the publication of the new edition of Intruders on Battleship Island. I really enjoyed my small role in bringing this edition to print. It's a great story with adventure, intrigue and young protagonists readers can't help but take a shine to!
Congrats, Jerrye. Looking forward to The Secret Graveyard!
Just wanted to say a quick "Thanks," to the folks at the Kindle Boards forum. Many of my earliest customers have found me through the forum, and they've all been wonderful to work with!
I've recently revamped my website and added some services (Facebook graphics sets, static splash screens, romance trading cards). I invite you to have a look! Browse through the site, and if there's anything I can do for you, just shoot me an e-mail.
